Rihanna and Chris Brown are Not Just Friends!

2/22/2008 09:28:00 AM / Comments (0) / by oishimanjuju

Rihanna and Chris Brown have said they’re just pals.

That worked really well for Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia.

Despite public speculation that they’re getting it on, the “Umbrella” collaborators have been coy about the nature of their relationship.

“We’re just friends… We hang out,” Chris Brown, 18, said at a Grammy Awards after-party on February 10.

Two days later, however, they were spotted walking hand-in-hand into a private room at L.A.’s hottest spot, Les Deux.

The occasion? A surprise 20th birthday party for Rihanna!

PDA Time

After the crowd - which included Kanye West and Wilmer Valderrama - belted out “Happy Birthday,” Chris stood up and serenaded her with his own version, and she was beaming. He grabbed her after the song and kissed her!

The source adds that aside from his friendly dance-off with Wilmer Valderrama (he won, we hope) that night, Chris Brown and Rihanna “constantly had their hands all over each other and were rarely apart.”

Rihanna's Car Crashes!

Rihanna's Car Crashes! What?Extra is reporting that Rihanna was involved in a car accident on Sunday following the Grammy Awards ceremony.

After she performed her two-song set with 80s band The Time (she sang ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Don’t Stop the Music’) as well as taking home a Grammy for Rap/Sung Collaboration for her hit song ‘Umbrella’, the Barbados singer was inside her car outside the Island Def Jam party when another vehicle rammed into it.

Fortunately, no one sustained injuries and everyone was free to party while Rihanna can keep on singing her music and shielding us under her umbrella… ella… ella… eh. The joke is getting old. I need a new one.Rihanna's Car Crashes!

Now that it’s over and done with, Rihanna can look back on the 50th Annual Grammy Awards with fondness and pride. After all, she took home her first Grammy last night. Winning a trophy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, the “Umbrella” singer also put on a killer performance as part of the night’s festivities.

From the time she arrived, looking ravishing on the red carpet, until the EW after party, Rihanna clearly brought her fashion A-game. She ended the night in a classic short black dress with a frilly sleeveless shawl. This “Good Girl Gone Bad” may have already accomplished more than she had ever dreamed, but something tells us she’s just getting started.

Rihanna Got A New Tatoo

Rihanna was spotted out walking her ADORABLE dog sporting what seemed to be new ink.

Rihanna has gotten a tattoo of what appears to be a guitar on her left forearm but looks more like a weird penis.

I'm not such a fan of big tattoos but I could live with it. What I can't forgive is that hideous nail polish color that Rihanna has on. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she's getting into the Halloween spirit.

Rihanna in YOU Magazine

Good girl gone bad Rihanna graces the latest issue of Britain's YOU magazine. In the magazine she talks about her crack addict father, Justin Timberlake, and her new image. Here are some highlights from the interview...

Rihanna on her father, a former crack addict:
“I had seen the marijuana and cocaine around him but I didn’t know what it was. I just knew that my mum didn’t like it, and they were always fighting about it. My mother was a very strong woman and tried to shelter us from as much as she could. But she was working, and he was at home, so there was only so much that she could hide from us. He’s OK, he’s drug-free now. He got over it a while ago because my mother wouldn’t let us go and see him otherwise. So he gave it up for us.”

Rihanna on working with Justin Timberlake:
“I was so starstruck at being in the same room as him.”

Rihanna on her good-girl-gone-bad image:
“I felt I was embarking on a whole new image, a whole new journey. I wanted to differentiate myself from the past. I have come into my own and I know what I’m doing now. I’ve called the new album Good Girl Gone Bad because I was determined to do it my way, I was sick of listening to what everyone else wanted. This is the way I like to look and sound, so I became very rebellious – that’s the attitude of the entire project.”

Rihanna, pop’s Caribbean Queen talks to Sunday Life about her phenomenal career
Rihanna’s story is a real-life fairytale. One of three children she formed a musical trio with two of her secondary school classmates and in 2004 won a local Barbados beauty pageant, during which she performed the Mariah Carey song Hero.
“I used to practise in the shower and the neighbours were always complaining,” she laughs.
At the age of 15, Rihanna was introduced to music producer Evan Rogers who was holidaying in Barbados. He took her to New York to record some material, which caught the attention of Jay-Z, who signed her up to his Def-Jam record label.
“Yes, I’m very lucky,” admits Rihanna. “It’s definitely a fairytale and I wake up every day so thankful. It’s proof that no matter who or where you are, if you work very hard and believe in your dreams they can come true.
“I’ve always dreamed of becoming a singer and entertainer, and now I’m fulfilling my dream.”

The “Umbrella” belle Rihanna went to dinner at swanky Da Silvano’s in New York last night, accompanied by a delectable date named DJ — her dog!
Not even Rihanna’s beauty can take away from the cute canine’s adorability factor, as the fluffy pup looks related to lovable Muppet, Fozzie Bear.
As for Rihanna taking her pet to the restaurant — she just wocka wocka wocka’d right in.

What do you do when you’re sitting around the house, bored out of your mind? Go shopping, of course! Rihanna even took her new pooch DJ with her on her Wednesday afternoon stroll through Stella McCartney.
Rih-Rih kept it casual, with a white tank top and a pulled-back ‘do, giving her oversized gold hoop earrings plenty of room to shine. And her “furry friend” makes quite the cute accessory as well.

Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados as the oldest child to Ronald Fenty, her Barbadian father,[7] and Monica Fenty, her Guyanese mother. She has two younger brothers named Rorrey and Rajad. Rihanna went to Charles F. Broome Memorial School, a primary school in Barbados, and then on to one of Barbados' Grammar (older secondary) schools, the Combermere School, where she formed a musical trio with two of her classmates. In 2004, she won the Miss Combermere Beauty Pageant and performed in the Colours of Combermere School Show, singing Mariah Carey's "Hero". At the age of 15, Rihanna received her big break when one of her friends introduced her to music producer Evan Rogers, who was vacationing in Barbados with his wife. Rogers, along with his partner, Carl Sturken, helped Rihanna record material in the U.S. which was sent to various recording companies. One copy of Rihanna's work was sent to Jay-Z, who eventually signed her to Def Jam Records. Rihanna cites Alicia Keys, Beyoncé Knowles and her Caribbean background as major musical influences. Rihanna also stated in an interview that her friend and former Island Def Jam record label artist Fefe Dobson was someone that she admired and looked up to, having a fellow artist writing, singing, and performing the music she truly loves
